The Vice President of IT Operations will play a critical role in shaping the operational backbone of the organization, ensuring systems are robust, efficient, and aligned with enterprise growth.

This role requires a leader who can operate at the intersection of technology, infrastructure, and business continuity, bringing a forward-thinking approach to automation, observability, and global service operations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead global IT operations across cloud platforms, data centers, networks, and enterprise systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Define and implement a scalable IT operations strategy aligned with infrastructure growth and enterprise objectives.
  • Establish and optimize IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks, including incident, problem, change, and release management.
  • Drive site reliability engineering (SRE) principles, improving system uptime, latency, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee 24/7 global operations, ensuring rapid incident response and effective crisis management.
  • Implement advanced monitoring, observability, and automation tools to enhance system visibility and performance.
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to maintain a strong security posture and compliance with global standards.
  • Manage vendor ecosystems, including cloud providers, infrastructure partners, and managed service providers.
  • Lead cost optimization initiatives, balancing performance, scalability, and financial efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure operational readiness and platform scalability.
  • Develop and track KPIs and SLAs to ensure consistent service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Build and lead a high-performing global IT operations organization focused on execution excellence and innovation.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure leadership, or related roles within enterprise-scale environments.
  • Proven experience managing global IT operations in hyperscale or high-availability environments.
  • Deep expertise in multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), networking, and distributed systems.
  • Strong knowledge of ITSM frameworks (ITIL or equivalent) and SRE best practices.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing large-scale vendor relationships and service contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in complex, matrixed, global organizations.
  • Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Align IT operations with long-term business objectives, ensuring resilient and scalable systems.
  • Contribute to capacity planning, infrastructure forecasting, and global operational strategy development.

Working Conditions

  • Fully remote within the United States, with executive-level travel (20–25%) for global leadership alignment, site visits, and strategic initiatives.
  • Operates within a 24/7 mission-critical operations environment.
  • Requires the ability to manage complex priorities across multiple regions and time zones.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation Package: $380,000 – $491,000 (base salary + executive bonus + significant equity participation)
