The Chief Financial Officer, Operations will play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and strategic alignment across a highly capital-intensive, globally distributed business.
This role is distinct from traditional CFO positions; it is deeply embedded in operations, focusing on cost structures, asset performance, capital deployment, and operational scalability. The position requires a leader who can operate at the intersection of finance, infrastructure, and enterprise operations, translating financial strategy into executable outcomes at scale.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead financial oversight of global operations, including data center infrastructure, energy procurement, and platform delivery environments.
- Drive capital allocation strategy across multi-billion-dollar infrastructure investments, ensuring optimal ROI and asset utilization.
- Oversee operational financial planning, including OPEX/CAPEX management, cost optimization, and margin improvement initiatives.
- Partner with operations, engineering, and infrastructure leadership to align financial frameworks with real-time operational performance.
- Develop and implement financial models for infrastructure scaling, including capacity planning, utilization forecasting, and cost benchmarking.
- Establish governance over vendor contracts, supply chain economics, and long-term infrastructure agreements.
- Monitor and optimize unit economics, including cost per compute, energy efficiency metrics, and infrastructure ROI.
- Lead financial integration of new sites, expansions, and acquisitions across global regions.
- Implement advanced analytics and reporting frameworks to provide real-time operational financial insights.
- Ensure compliance with global financial regulations, internal controls, and enterprise governance standards (SOX, IFRS/GAAP).
- Collaborate with corporate finance on funding strategies, debt structures, and investor reporting related to operational assets.
- Build and lead a high-performing finance organization focused on operational excellence and scalability.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of executive finance leadership experience, with significant exposure to capital-intensive industries such as infrastructure, energy, or data centers.
- Proven track record managing large-scale operational finance functions in global organizations.
- Deep expertise in CAPEX planning, asset management, and infrastructure financial modeling.
- Strong understanding of energy economics, supply chain finance, and operational cost structures.
- Experience with regulatory frameworks and financial reporting standards (SOX, GAAP, IFRS).
- Demonstrated ability to partner with operational leaders to drive efficiency and performance improvements.
- Experience engaging with executive leadership, board members, and investors.
- Advanced proficiency in financial systems, ERP platforms, and analytics tools.

Working Conditions

Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation Package: $410,000 – $535,000 (base salary + executive bonus + significant equity participation)
